INTERMEDIATE COURT


JURISDICTION

The court has no jurisdiction to hear cases punishable with death or power to impose imprisonment exceeding 20 years. The court has jurisdiction to hear civil cases where the amount claimed, or value of the subject matter in dispute does not exceed B$100,000.00.

The criminal cases usually heard by the Intermediate Court are as follows:-

Criminal breach of trust.
House trespass.
Robbery.
Rape.
Causing grievous hurt
Arson
Trafficking in controlled drugs.
