Fire Awareness & Prevention Briefing |

Officers and staff of the Supreme Court as well as from the State Judiciary Department attended a briefing on fire safety and prevention held at the Supreme Court building on Saturday, 13th June 2009.
The briefing was conducted by personnel from the Public Relations Unit of the Fire & Rescue Department, which was led by Station Officer Norzali bin Apong.
The purpose of the briefing was to provide information with regards to fire safety and prevention as well as create awareness so as the officers and staff would be prepared in the event of an actual fire. Topics covered during the briefing include how fire spreads inside a building, the types of hazardous fumes released during a fire, the types of fires and fire extinguishers used to tackle each type of fire, and how to operate a fire extinguisher.
The briefing also touches on the different types of smoke detectors as well as emergency evacuation procedures.
The briefing was ended with a practical exercise whereby officers and staff were given a hands on oppurtunity to extinguish a fire.
